After four wonderful days with my parents, Lucia went to daycare for the first time today. I have to admit, I was pretty nervous but she had a wonderful time! And I survived the process :) I spent an hour and a half with her in the morning and she seemed quite content with her teacher. She took her bottle from Kee just fine and slept happily in her crib with the beautiful blanket her Yoma (grandma Pam) made her. She was stylish and happy. I left and came back to get her around 1 pm and when I peaked around the corner she was happily asleep. That gave me some time to get a cup of coffee because you never wake a sleeping baby, and when I came back she was awake, smiling and ready for me to take her home. Go Lucia! You were more brave than your momma in this new situation.
A special thanks really has to go to my parents. They flew in from Montana and took such wonderful, loving care of 'the girl' while I started back to work. They really helped prepare her for her new school and for taking a bottle while both Jon and I were at work. We couldn't have done it without you. And one last thank you to our dear friend Amy who bought Lucia this beautiful outfit to wear on her first day.
