Maybe its my nesting instinct kicking in

As many of you may know, I've been obsessed with redoing our bathroom upstairs. When we moved in it was a disaster. It looked good at first and we thought by just replacing a mirror, a new vanity and some new paint and we'd be good to go. Little did we know :). Behind the mirror was a gigantic hole (that they had used the mirror to cover up) and previous owners had just glued sheet rock on top of plaster walls and so our quick project became something more. I like to say that we're doing this all for baby but the reality is, this is my bathroom and I'd like it to be nicer. Jon has his 'man bathroom' downstairs and I'd like to girly this one up.

Thanks to my super duper brother-in-law Jeremy, the demo and new drywall was put up. Ahhh, what a difference. By mid-January I had chosen a paint color and repainted it. Every day I delight in how sunny (I painted it yellow) and happy it is. Next came the floors. With Jon's help we ripped up the existing tile, don't ask how hideous it was and two weekends ago I put down new backerboard (I'm getting to know all the good homeowner lingo). This weekend I put down the new tile. We purchased 3/4 inch hexagonal tile (period specific to our 1915 house)and after 4 hours of trying to make it exact - its down. Yeah! We still have more to do, for example, grouting and putting the trim back up but its so close I can barely contain myself. When you come visit after SBJ is born I can show this all off to you. For now, I just wanted to share my excitement. People ask if I'm preparing for the baby and I think most of you mean the nursery decorating but this is my kind of preparation......a new (or semi-new) bathroom.
