Iron Chef!
Reed in his new cooking apron
Reed has reached such a fun age and we are loving every minute of it. He, like is sister is very much into helping and since he watches her stand on the step stool at the counter and cook with me, he wants to also. He has helped with shaking my smoothie in the morning and grinding the coffee with Dada but he is now ready for the big time and what better way to start off his cooking than his own apron.
Both kids go to an intergenerational daycare that we are lucky to be a part of. The kids grow so much being around the senior residents and they love to be around the kids. Our daycare is within a senior living center and within that center is a sewing shop where residents sew items for sale. I frequently look at the window during drop-off times but usually it is only girl items. I learned recently that it is because the material is donated and they don't often get boy fabric. With that knowledge I marched off to JoAnn Fabrics and had the best time picking out multiple patterns for their use. Our program director brought Reed down to meet one of the sewers who enjoyed meeting "her model" and the next day we had this beautiful apron. Doesn't he look proud?! I'm excitd for our new kitchen adventures that I am sure will be very messy but very fun.
