First time at the beach

So this weekend we finally took Reed to the beach for the first time. (We know it sounds pathetic this being late August, but summer only just started a week or two ago). At any rate, he LOVED it. From the moment he saw the water he made a beeline straight for it. We couldn't keep him away. And his poor sun-avoiding dad had to stand in the harsh sun for well over an hour since mom has a boot on her broken foot. Anyway, we have a feeling he's going to be a real waterbug. We randomly had a nature show on the tv earlier tonight with dolphins and Reed was clapping and pointing at them, visibly excited. I guess we'd better start swim lessons soon ...
