Happy Mother's Day

Ten things I love about my children:

1. Reed's super strong and sweet hugs
2. Lucia's expression when she's super happy (she shrugs her shoulders and her eyes get big)
3. The way they sound when they've fallen asleep next to me
4. Their laughter, the happiest sound
5. Silly made up songs from Lucia
6. My lap baby boy, is happy as long as he's being held by me and turns out that makes me pretty happy to
7. The running hugs Lucia gives when I pick her up from school
8. Toothy grins
9. How their voice sounds when they call out for their mama
10. The love they give each other and me

I wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember. I thought at one time that dream would never come true. Then I met my true love and he gave me the most wonderful children. Sleepless nights, battles of wills, minutes of uncontrolled laughter, more mess than I can ever clean up, sweet hugs...I love every second with them and my life is richer with them in it.

And I wouldn't be here filled with so much happiness without my mama so Happy Mother's Day Mom! Your loving care of me is one of the reasons I am the mom I am. I am a little bit of you and so my children are a little bit of you too.

And to Jon's mom, I am forever grateful that you gave me Jon. You raised him to be such a wonderful man and father. Being a mom is better (and easier) with him by our sides. Happy Mother's Day!

And for our friends that help to mother our children through our friendship, we thank you. I've always believed that motherhood is more than having your own children, it is about loving all children.

Now I'm off to sleep before my children wake me up very early :)
