When the weather is nice, Lucia and I like to get out for a walk around the neighborhood. When she was first born it was in her Maya wrap and it was only for a block or two. As she got older we graduated to the Bjorn and could go for two miles. Now, she's in a jogging stroller and if she's asleep we can go out for over an hour. She loves to be outside and she enjoys all the sights, sounds and smells. Sometimes, the motion of the walk and the quiet lulls her to sleep and as she sleeps I can get lost in my thoughts. It is a great activity for both of us. We love that she's an outdoor girl and will look forward to many adventures with her.
We live near Lincoln Park and it is a breathtaking place to explore. Right on Puget Sound it has many walking trails, swings and gyms for children, tennis courts and a salt water pool right next to the Sound. From our house its about a mile and if we go the back route we can walk right along the water. With the leaves changing color and the sunshine that we had today I am reminded of how much I love the Northwest and how much I will love raising our girl here.
