Friday was Lucia's birthday and while I thought about having cake to celebrate I remembered she wasn't on solid foods yet :) She does love to watch us eat however and seems mesmerized by it. I think she will take to eating well and we'll ask her pediatrician at the next visit about when will be a good time to start with her.
Now that she's a wise four months old she's learned to roll over in both directions and she can grasp an object that's put out in front of her. She is sitting up more confidently although can't do it without assistance. She's always been our spirited baby and prefers to be on the move, no sitting for hours and cuddling with her when there is a whole world to explore. She is more talkative these days and she's learning that some cries get reactions. She smiles easily with friends and family but is still reserved when she hasn't met or feels that she knows you well enough. But when her smile comes, it lights up the room.
She has grown taller and put on some lovely baby pounds in the last month. Her next visit isn't until November 7th but when Jon took her in last Monday to see if she had an ear infection or was teething (neither was true), she weighed 17 pounds 11 ounces. That's our girl.
